Uganda Community Health & UHC Scorecards

In September 2019, UN Member States unanimously adopted the Political Declaration on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in an effort to reaffirm the Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030. The following May at the World Health Assembly, UN Member States again recognized the invaluable contribution made by community health workers (CHWs) in achieving UHC, and CHWs vital role in delivery of primary health care within their communities. Investments in community health and CHWs means that communities are better equipped to respond to health emergencies; promote healthier populations; and detect, prevent, and control threats to health. Monitoring key community health indicators is important for countries to assess how policies, investments, and actions impact the delivery of health care services.
